Padmasri N.B.K.R. founded Harijana Vidyardhi Udharaka Sangham (HVUS) in the year 1936. N.B.K.R. Institute of Science & Technology was established under the aegis of HVUS in the year 1979. The Institute is located in a sprawling 185 acre-campus on the bank of the river Swarnamukhi at Vidyanagar near Vakadu, Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. The Institute is about 135 kms from Chennai, 95 kms from Tirupathi and 25 kms from Gudur railway station.

 

N.B.K.R. Institute of Science & Technology is an Autonomous Institute affiliated to JNT University Ananthapuramu. This Institute is reaccredited by NAAC (UGC) “A” grade. B. Tech courses in CE, ME, EEE and ECE are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA)

under TIER-I.

The institute offers B. Tech programmes in Civil Engg., Electrical & Electronics Engg., Electronics & Communication Engg., Mechanical Engg., Computer Science & Engg., Information Technology & Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences.

 

The institute campus houses academic blocks, boys and girls hostels, open air auditorium, sports complex, staff quarters etc. The Institute focuses on skill and professional development of the graduates through student run clubs and technical associations. Professional chapters like IEEE, ISTE, IETE, CSI and IE(I) help our students to run several activities.

 

Department laboratories and Computer Centre has state-of-the- art equipment to fulfil the needs of the researchers, students and faculty. The central library is well stocked with books, journals, magazines and newspapers. It also subscribes thousands of e-journals and e-books. The e-resources can be accessed through the campus network.

 

There are adequate opportunities for co-curricular and extra- curricular activities helping students to gain overall skills. Industrial and relevant field visits arranged by us expose the students to practical learning experience.

 

Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIP Cell) caters the needs of the Institute and Industry by way of Internships, consultancy etc.

 

The Institute has sports facilities for indoor and outdoor games. The sports complex spread over an area of 14 acres is utilized by more than 200 students per day. The physical education department organizes the Annual track & field meets, Annual sports meet for students and staff. Inter collegiate tournaments for autonomous colleges under JNTUA Ananthapuramu are also conducted by the Institute.

 

The Institute has a 2(A) EME Unit with a capacity of 100 cadets. The Institute also has a 10(A) Naval Unit with a capacity of 50 cadets. After going through nation-wide rigorous selection procedures, one of our NCC Naval cadets got selected and participated in the republic day celebrations in New Delhi in 2023.
